'Dreamer' Scrapbook Layout
Hello again, lovely readers! I'm very excited to share this layout because it's been in the works for a while, and it's finally finished! Because I started the digital portion a while ago and never got a vision for how I wanted to finish it, I just allowed it to percolate until an idea came to me. I recently trimmed some strips off of the cards from the kit in my shop, 'Pumpkin Spice' and noticed that the lovely mix of prints and colors was really inspiring to me. I instantly had a vision of it laid like a colorful brick pattern along a spread ... and that spread was this 'Dreamer' layout!
To start off this layout, I placed my image onto a 9x12" canvas in photoshop. Once there, I crafted the typography around myself featuring the lyrics from 'she is' an old favorite of mine. Once that was done, I printed the full photo out and began embellishing with my little strips. I absolutely love the color story from the 'Pumpkin Spice' Kit and even in little scraps, you still get a strong impression of the prints and colors used throughout. This would also work with plenty of other paper scraps so grab your bits and get to scrapping!
As you can see, there wasn't too much of a rhyme or reason behind my strip size and placement aside from keeping a good varied balance throughout. I tried to have a variety of color, heights and lengths present throughout the spread and then I scattered some wood veneer stars throughout the spread for added dimension.
The title of my spread, 'Dreamer' I pulled from this little chipboard piece from the Studio Calico Young at Heart scrapbook kit which I tucked into the strips above my portrait where I felt it most logically communicated the title and fit nicely into my color story.
I attached all the strips and wood veneer stars with my tombow permanent adhesive and I just love how easily they went onto the page and made it quick and easy to complete!
