'Go' Scrapbook Layout

Hi guys! I'm back today sharing a short peek at a typographic layout I created using the Odyssey Digital Alpha stamp set from Studio Calico. I found this quote by Langston Hughes recently and I just knew I wanted to incorporate a type heavy layout. I love the roundness and skinny lines of this alpha stamp and so I played around with it for this layout titled 'Go'. Check it out, and some details below!

Scrapbooking Big

Sometimes I like to hoard elements and hold onto them when I love them dearly but I'm coming to terms with the fact that I'm continuously getting new products through kit subscriptions, my own creation, and splurging, and I just need to use them! So this week, I'm sharing a lesson in scrapbooking big, and using up your supplies–yes even those coveted ones!

December Daily Week 1

Hi lovelies! Today I'm sharing the beginnings of my December Daily® album for this year! I've switched up my album slightly since I prepped it but I'm really digging the simpler format this year that I described in that post. For the majority of this album I'm using one photo per day paired with hand-written journaling and I'm loving this approach so far! See below for even more details and I hope you enjoy!

December Daily Prep

I–like many others around the world–am partaking in December Daily again this year and boy am I excited! I completed my little album from 2014 with pride and I love looking back on all the happy holiday memories. Last year, however, I was back in school and working–a combination of which was way more than a full time commitment–and I fell off the December Daily bandwagon with all my beloved handpicked supplies left to collect dust. Until now, that is! Since I had already chosen supplies, purchased a mini kit, and made a *somewhat* concrete plan last year, but didn’t have the opportunity to do December Daily, I am repurposing those plans and am excited to tackle the challenge again this year!

'Dreamer' Scrapbook Layout

Hello again, lovely readers! I'm very excited to share this layout because it's been in the works for a while, and it's finally finished! Because I started the digital portion a while ago and never got a vision for how I wanted to finish it, I just allowed it to percolate until an idea came to me. I recently trimmed some strips off of the cards from the kit in my shop, 'Pumpkin Spice' and noticed that the lovely mix of prints and colors was really inspiring to me. I instantly had a vision of it laid like a colorful brick pattern along a spread ... and that spread was this 'Dreamer' layout!

'Hello Tennis' Scrapbook Layout

Hi guys! I'm back today sharing a fun layered layout titled 'Hello Tennis'. One of my favorite parts of the September Kit 'Pumpkin Spice' is this fun jumbo dot confetti. To create this spread I printed a 4" x 9" panoramic photo from my trip to the US Open and adhered it to the top of my spread. I then layered alternating colors from the kit's confetti down the page. Once that was done, I grabbed a label from the kit and hand lettered the title and stamped the date on it, adhering it front and center on my page. To finish it off, I grabbed the mini wood veneer hearts from the Young at Heart Studio Calico Documenter Kit and scattered them throughout the spread for movement and texture. That was all! See below for more detailed photos of this page!

'Morning Hello' Scrapbook Layout

Hi guys! I'm back today sharing a little layered grid layout titled 'Morning Hello'. It's fun and vibrant using the recent kit from Studio Calico 'Pool Party'. To complete this layout, I punched some 2"x2" squares with my Fiskars XL punch and layered them atop each other in a funky skewed grid. Once my papers were down with a little Tombow permanent adhesive I stitched through them with some textured embroidery thread in three straight lines. Once that was complete, I attached my photo on some pop dots and finished the spread with a little strip of date paper at the top! Check below to see all the details up close!
