Sunday Sketch Series No. 56

Hi guys! I'm back with another Sunday Sketch Series and today I want to introduce you to a way to scrap the sketch all together and cut out some of the work. It will be less creative, but when you're in a time crunch - using templates are a great way to get a usable 'sketch' and put it right to work in Photoshop. This week, I'm using a template from Little Lamm & Co's February templates and putting the basis of the design to work for me. Using templates is a great way to get a structure down for a page and then if you want, you can add in any extra embellishments that you want. Also, because it's in photoshop - you can manipulate the template as much as you want also!

Hey there! Today I have a new layout for you titled "Style". I fell in love with the cork piece from the Studio Calico Film Club Scrapbook Kit this month that says 'You've Got Style'. I just knew it was a perfect fit for all the photos of my nephew in his excellent clothing choices! I grabbed a photo and played around with this scrapbook sketch until I was happy with the layout as a whole which basically included scattering an array of enamel pieces and wood veneer throughout the layout! Check out the sketch and the completed page below!

Hi guys! This week I'm back with another Sunday Sketch Series - It's a hybrid between scrapbook layout and pocket page so check it out below! I used this sketch to create my layout titled "Published Life" about a recent book that has some of my work in it and that I helped do the image editing for. I'm super stoked about it and if you're interested in checking it out it's called The Fashion Designer's Sketchbook and you can take a peek inside and purchase it here - it's a pretty rad book for anyone who wants to make a creative sketchbook happen.

Hey guys, I'm back with a fun take on a layout using a full page image as the background. To replicate this Sunday Sketch, there are many ways to interpret it. My fave is to simply doodle some digital confetti on your image before printing - like I've done with 'Celebrate' or you can throw a confetti transparency over it too! ( I'm Loving this one ). Either way, this is a fun trick to jazz up a layout without much embellishment involved!

THIS WEEK'S SKETCH

THIS WEEK IS A SUPER SIMPLE SKETCH AT HEART, BUT IT CAN BE JAZZED UP IN ANY NUMBER OF WAYS! I CHOSE TO MAKE MY LAYOUT SPECIAL BY MAKING MY TITLE A BOLD BRUSH SCRIPT. I THEN BALANCED THAT WITH BRIGHT PHOTOS THAT HELD THEIR OWN AND SIMPLE JOURNALING ON VELLUM. THIS LAYOUT, A DEDICATION TO MY COUSIN WHO GOT MARRIED EARLIER THIS WEEK, IS MOSTLY ABOUT THE SENTIMENTAL, THEREFORE THE PAGE HAS MORE JOURNALING THAN I WOULD NORMALLY DO. IF YOU CUT SOME OF THE JOURNALING OUT, SIMPLY TAKE THIS SPACE TO EMBELLISH MORE, OR MIX THINGS UP WITH STITCHING OR PAINT, PERHAPS! TO SEE HOW I TURNED THIS SKETCH INTO MY LAYOUT 'TRUST LOVE MARRIAGE', KEEP ON SCROLLING! >>>

ALTHOUGH I MADE THIS SKETCH IN REMEMBRANCE OF 9/11 AND LIVING LIFE TO THE FULLEST, THIS SKETCH IS PERFECT FOR ANYONE WHO WANTS TO MAKE A LIST OF ANYTHING FROM THEIR FAVORITE FOODS, TO THINGS THEY WANT TO ACCOMPLISH! IF YOU'RE READY TO GET TO LISTING, CHECK OUT THIS SKETCH AND SEE HOW I TURNED IT INTO MY LAYOUT TITLED 'LOOKING FORWARD'. >>>
